#Giveaway Energizer Prize Pack: Change Your Clock Change Your Battery CLOSED!

November 4th is Daylight Savings Time this year and with that in mind, dont forget to change your clocks. On top of changing your clocks in your home, go around and change out the batteries in your smoke alarms, so that you and your family continue to stay safe when it comes to a house fire. Dreamworks Spooky Stories

Tomorrow is Halloween and the kids are ready, I mean they are really ready. They have been decorating, getting costumes together, making a plan for getting their candy and watching all of the Halloween movies that they can find. Recently we were sent Dreamworks Spooky Stories to review. My kids love Shrek and the whole gang, so you can guess that they loved watching Scared Shrekless with all of the great stories from Shrek and his friends. They also loved the two stories from the Monsters vs Aliens team where you have some scary carrots and some mutant alien pumpkins. All of these tales that are on this DVD were great and I love the animation as well. So tomorrow, while you are getting geared up for the trick or treating,  pick up the Dreamworks Spooky Stories to share with your little trick or treaters!

Book by Book Feeds Very Hungry Readers!

You remember your favorite books as a kid and if you are a parent or grandparent, then you know how it feels to share those favorite childhood books with your own little ones! I love to watch my kids faces light up when I read some of my favorite stories to them and research shows that reading to your kids helps them succeed academically, but the thing is about 60% of children in low income homes do not have any books in their homes. Capital One and The Heart of America Foundation are working to change that with their new campaign, Book by Book. From October 15 – November 15, the public can vote for their favorite children’s books online to help determine which books will be gifted to some very deserving kids across the country. In addition, Capital One will donate one book for every new fan of their Investing for Good Facebook page…with the goal of donating 50,000 books. So head on over to the Capital One Investing for Good page and vote for your favorites, also like their Facebook page and share this with your friends and family so that they can get books in the homes of those who really need them!!! 

Halloween at Target

Even though Halloween is just a couple of days away, there is still time to get those last minute decorations and costume ideas, and you can find those last minute Halloween items at Target! To get my last minute items taken off of my list, I was sent a box of Halloween products from Target over the weekend. I was sent some great decorations that fit in perfectly with the theme we have on our house, along with costumes for our dogs, and some great masks and wigs that we can add to our own costumes and share with others for a Halloween party so that everyone has something to wear. It was like opening a box full of goodies, there was a little of this and a little of that. I honestly, had no idea on what I was going to be this year, and with the products from Target I was able to throw together a nice and very inexpensive Vampiress themed costume, with a beautiful masquerade mask, cape and wig. For the dogs, we were able to dress Chloe up as a lion and Harley as a shark, then our friend was able to find a very cute bride and groom set for her dogs as well! With all of the products that are too many to mention, we were able to complete our Halloween set up from the decorations to the animal costumes and even have extra to share with our friends, and everyone agrees that Target is the place to go to for those last minute Halloween needs!!

Beauty How To's for Halloween

This Halloween, we will all be scurrying around to get that look, that look that we are aiming for. Halloween is the one time of year that I love because it gives me the chance to play dress up as an adult and get away with it in public, lol. I grew up in a family of actors, so when it came to doing makeup and dressing up, I got to see my parents do it at all different times of the year. I, unfortunately, do not have the gift of acting, so to say, so my time to dress up and be something that I am not is Halloween. This year, I was sent some great products from P&G to try out and use for my Halloween costume this year. I really do not have a name for what I am this year, but the pieces that I found from here and there go together and the makeup and hair products that I was sent, makes my costume complete!! Along with the I guess, the vampiress look that I am going with this year, I was also given info on how to make the hottest looks this year work for your Halloween costume!!
To get the Katniss look you will want to follow these instructions:

1.       Start with a clean face and dry hair.

2.       Use a dollop of Pantene Beautiful Lengths Strengthen and Smooth Finishing Crème to add texture and smooth frizziness.

3.       Starting on the side where the hair is parted, pull a fairly large section of hair from behind the ear to start a reverse French braid – almost like a corn row.

4.       Grab small sections as you go, making sure the braid is tight.

5.       Angle to braid so it swoops down around the neck.

6.       Secure the end of the braid with an elastic band.

7.       Take about an inch of hair from around the face and wiggle it out of the braid.

8.       Loosely wrap that section of hair around the barrel of a curling iron and set.

9.       Spray hair with Pantene Pro-V Stylers Anti-Humidity Maximum Hold Hairspray.

10.   Pull out another strand of hair on the opposite side and let it hang loose or pin it back if it’s too long.

11.   Starting at the top, massage the braid to pull it apart loosely so it’s not super structured.

12.   Once complete, the braid should look a little bit messy.

13.   Remember to keep makeup simple because Katniss is a hunter. Start with COVERGIRL + Olay Pressed Powder in a shade darker than your normal skin tone to warm up the complexion. Apply where the sun would naturally tan your face...

14.   Use COVERGIRL Outlast All-Day Lipcolor on lips and cheeks to create a subtle sunburn effect.

15.   Coat the top and bottom lashes with COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume mascara.

16.   When you’re finished, you should have a wilderness look, like you’ve been hunting for days!

Then if you want to go for the True Blood Look, you can go with these simple steps:

1.       Start with a clean face and dry hair.

2.       Using a soft shadow brush, apply a generous layer of COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Brown Smolder to your upper and lower eyelid.

3.       Create a smoky-eye by applying brown eyeliner to your upper and lower lash lines.

4.       Curl eyelashes and apply two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

5.       Add bronzer to the forehead, chin, and cheekbones to contour your face.

6.       Create an ethereal glow by applying shimmer to the eyes and cheekbones.

7.       Now use the COVERGIRL OutLast All-Day Lipcolor on lips to give that just bitten, sexy look.

8.       Add “bite marks” on your neck using the same Lipcolor.

9.       Onto the hair! First start by misting Pantene Pro-V Stylers Heat Protection Spray all over.

10.   Next, separate hair’s layers to make the curling process easier.

11.   Grab a 1 – 1.5 inch section of hair, wrap around the barrel of a curling iron and roll left.

12.   Grab another section of hair, but this time, roll right.

13.   Repeat steps 11 and 12 until the whole head is curled.

14.   Next, gently go through strands with your fingers to break up curls and add volume.

15.   Finally, spray Aussie You Can Shine Spray Gloss throughout to boost shine.

16.   Voila! Now you have the True Blood look.

Whichever look you go with this Halloween, I found that adding the beauty products mentioned in the looks above from P&G, helped make my look complete!!

Maclaren Triumph (Preparing for Baby Guide)

There are so many stages in a child's life, from the time they are born, just in that first year, they go through so many changes and grow so much. I know that this first year with Wyatt will go by fast, but I also know that I will take in and cherish every bit of it. Here in a few months, especially at the rate our Wyatt is going, we will be ready to change up with our stroller. He will be ready for what I call, a big boy stroller. One that is lightweight and easy to maneuver when I am out and about, and one that is also comfortable for Wyatt to sit in while I push it around. Recently I was sent such stroller from Maclaren to review. I was sent the Maclaren Triumph, which is a great stroller to have around as Wyatt gets older. The Maclaren Triumph is made to accommodate babies from 6 months up to about 55 pounds. I love that this stroller comes with a umbrella and a raincover and that the umbrella is waterproof as well, so if we are out and we run into some weather, Wyatt can stay dry, he can also ride around while keeping the sun out of his eyes with the umbrella that I can fold out or fold up on those not so sunny days or nights when we are out walking around! Another plus, that is a big thing for me is the shopping basket. I love to shop, so having a shopping basket that is big enough to carry my bags in, is a must have for me. I also like that I can operate the brakes with my feet, so there really is not a whole lot I need to do other than put the brake in place with my foot. In all, I find the Maclaren Triumph Stroller to be a great lightweight stroller and a must have for anyone with little ones who are ready to make that upgrade to a big boy or big girl stroller!

Tiny Love #Giveaway US & Canada (Holiday Guide 2012) CLOSED!

I know that this Christmas will be one to remember for us, because this year will be the first Christmas for our little Wyatt. Even though he will be too little to remember it for himself, we will still be making it a special one for him. I love babies first Christmas, and Wyatt will be the youngest one to be celebrating a first Christmas in our family. I love shopping and finding great toys that will help with babies development and with the holidays coming, I have the perfect excuse to shop for all of those adorable must have baby toys. This year we will be adding Tiny Love products under the tree for Wyatt since we were sent some great ones to review from Tiny Love! We were sent the much sought after Super Mat, Follow Me Fred and the adorable Musical Stack and Ball Game! All three of these products are great to have for baby for both fun and for babies development. With the Super Mat mommy and baby can bond and play together during tummy time. At this stage in Wyatt's growth, we can snuggle together on the mat while I listen to him coo and watch those adorable smiles. I find our time now to be very special, since Wyatt is still so little and yet changing everyday. As Wyatt gets older we can enjoy tummy time together and play with and explore all of the wonderful pictures on the mat as well as add other toys for Wyatt to play with! I find the Super Mat to be not only a great gift for Wyatt but also one for me since we can really enjoy playing on it together and enjoy our playtime!

With Follow Me Fred, Wyatt will find himself wanting to go after this adorable puppy, and hopefully finding himself learning how to crawl. I think watching your baby crawl is so special, especially when they first start to move, I think I find myself more excited that they are moving than my babies do. You can first start by placing Fred in front of baby, and place him in circular mode before baby starts to crawl. Baby can learn how to get Fred to move by touching him and watching him go in a circular motion. Then as baby gets older they will find themselves more interested in Follow Me Fred with the music and slow motion, and find themselves wanting to crawl after him!! Follow Me Fred will show to be another great product from Tiny Love here in a few months when Wyatt reaches the right age and is ready to start playing with his Fred!

Then with the Musical Stack and Ball Game from Tiny Love, Wyatt will literally be able to have a ball playing with it! When Wyatt first starts to play with it, here in a couple of months, he will find himself loving to be able to hold the balls, and even put them up to his mouth, like he will do with many things that he gets a hold of, lol. He will also be able to make the balls make noise by shaking them or by banging them together! And as he gets older, he can find himself making a game out of putting the balls in the top and watching them reappear at the bottom over and over again! This elephant will prove to be tons of fun for my little Wyatt and it will also make for a great Christmas present this year for him!!
