#Giveaway Holiday Guide: Encyclopedia Britannica: Virtual Reality Exploration

The month of October is now behind us, and if you have been out to the stores, you will find that the holiday sales and decorations are out and ready to be added to your celebrations this year! With that said, I am one who enjoys seeking out a variety of gift ideas to give over the holidays, and also share what I come across with others. I also find that when it comes to the kids and finding gifts to give them, I not only enjoy seeking out the latest toys that are a must have, but also the gifts that inspire them and help to take the learning experience to a new level of fun. So when we were sent the Virtual Reality Experience from Encyclopedia Britannica to review, I was not only excited to check it out and add it to my list of must haves for the holidays, but also add it to this years holiday guide.

With the new Virtual Reality Exploration 6 Book Set from Encyclopedia Britannica, we not only get 6 hardcover informative books that are filled with fun facts, information and photos for the kids to enjoy, but we also get an amazing virtual reality experience as well. This allows us to both learn from the books in the collection that are included in this boxed set, as well as take the learning to a new level, using the virtual reality viewer which is also included.

The books that are found in this set include the following, which offer amazing graphics, text that grabs attention as well as video links:

Space: Explore the wonders of space from the planets, to the stars, to the history and challenges of space exploration. In the app environment, explore the surface of the moon; see a slideshow about lunar exploration and a video about the moon landing! In the app you can also play a game that tests your knowledge about meteorites, see an astronaut navigate the moon, view constellations, and more.
Animals: Test your knowledge about reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and how animals interact with each other and their environments. Learn about camouflage, adaptation, and extinction. In the app, visit an environment typical of the Serengeti savanna and find out more about spectacular animals!
Dinosaurs: Learn about the development of dinosaurs and how they interacted with each other and other animals that lived during their era. Go on a dinosaur dig in the accompanying app: see fossils of Allosaurus, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus, and Pteranodon, as well as 3-D models of how these animals would have looked and moved. Be one of the firsts to see the Pteranodon fly!
Explorations: Explore historical voyages and methods of transport. The book includes explorers, such as Zheng He and Magellan, journeys of migration and settlements, such as the Oregon Trail, journeys of conquest, information on famous train routes and boat journeys, and more. In the app, travel around the globe to get additional information about selected historic journeys.
Landmarks: From the Great Wall of China to the Grand Canyon, travel around the world exploring natural wonders and human-made monuments. In the app, tour 10 exciting landmarks from around the world, both ancient and modern: the Taj Mahal, the Great Pyramid at Giza, Pyramid IV at Tikal (Guatemala), Burj Khalifa (the tallest building in the world), Willis Tower, the Hagia Sophia, the Sydney Opera House, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral in Brasilia, and the U.S. Capitol building.

Oceans: Dive into underwater environments around the world: explore ocean geography, meet many fascinating marine animals and study other bodies of water. In the app, explore an ocean environment and learn more about dolphins, sharks, whales, and other undersea creatures.
Then when it comes to taking the learning experience that the kids can get with this collection from Encyclopedia Britannica even further, I like that the kids and I can utilize the 6 month subscription to Encyclopedia Britannica which comes with the kit. Also included are 6 free app downloads, and the apps allow us to take the learning even further by using the Virtual Reality viewer. This gives us access to the 3-D environments that are associated with the books that come in the set, which include interactive animation, games, videos and more. Making the choice to add the new Virtual Reality Exploration 6 Book kit from Encyclopedia Britannica to your holiday shopping list, a choice that inspires young minds and helps to make learning fun! And to help with the holiday shopping this year, the wonderful people from Encyclopedia Britannica would like to give one of our amazing readers their own Virtual Reality Exploration kit!

Product received, thank you to Encyclopedia Britannica as well as the PR for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
