#Giveaway Sweet N' Sour Slow Cooker Chicken with R.W. Knudsen Organic Pear + 2 Winners!
When it comes to finding those simple to create meals that the whole family can enjoy, I like to seek out the ingredients that my family likes. Like many, on those days where we are busy and find that taking time in the evening to prepare a sit down meal is out of the question, and I have learned that creating a slow cooker meal is ideal. So when we were sent some of the R.W. Knudsen Organic Pear juice to review, I found that it would be perfect for using with a sweet n' sour chicken dish that can be made in the slow cooker.
For this recipe you will need to get out your 6 quart slow cooker. You will also need the following:
Ingredients:
1 Green Bell Pepper
2 Red Bell Peppers
1 Yellow Bell Pepper
1 Yellow Onion
2 tbsp Crushed Garlic
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 tbsp Corn Starch
1 Pineapple
32 oz Chicken Broth
3 Chicken Breasts Cut in 1/2
1 jar or R.W. Knudsen Organic Pear Juice
2.5 cups uncooked white rice
Once you have your ingredients together, cube the bell peppers, onion, and pineapple and put into the slow cooker along with the chicken breasts that have been cut into 6 pieces. Add the crushed garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, corn starch, broth and juice then mix well. Cover and set the slow cooker on high, let cook for 5-6 hours, stirring occasionally.
About 30 minutes before the food is done cooking in the slow cooker, take the 2.5 cups of rice and pour into a large pot on the oven. Add 5 cups of water to the rice and cook on high heat until boiling. When water begins to boil, stir the rice and reduce heat to a slow simmer, stirring from time to time until the water is cooked into the rice then remove the rice from the heat.
To serve, take a bowl and add 2 large spoonfuls of rice. Take one of the chicken halves and place on top of the rice then ladle in some of the vegetables, pineapple, sauce, serve and enjoy!
We found this meal to be a great addition to our list of slow cooker family meals that offers us plenty of food for dinner and even left overs for the next day! I also found that with the Organic Pear Juice from R.W. Knudsen, that it can also be used to drink all alone as a great refreshing juice to enjoy in the afternoons or can be used to add to those morning smoothies! Making the Organic Pear from R.W. Knudsen, another great juice to add to my list of family favorites. And you can too when you enter below for a chance to win one of two jars of the Organic Pear from R.W. Knudsen.
Product received, thank you to R.W. Knudsen as well as the PR for supplying me with a product for this review, all opinions are my own.
