#Giveaway Make a New Friend with My Friend Cayla

When it comes to toys, I find that it never ceases to amaze me when we find new toys and get a chance to check out the new technology that they use. For me, as a mom, it seems as the time goes on, we find more and more toys that offer some pretty fun and great interactive features, that make myself and even my husband wish we were kids again. In my house, when it comes to the things my kids enjoy playing with, one particular type of thing they can all agree on, even my 2 year old, are the apps. My kids enjoy finding, downloading, and playing apps as we come across them, so when we were told about a doll that is not only interactive, but also has a app that we can download so my daughter can interact with her, we were excited to check it out!

The doll is called, My Friend Cayla, and when she arrived, both my daughter and I, along with her friends, were excited to check her out. My Friend Cayla is a doll that brings those highly sought after 18 inch dolls, to a whole new level. She is unique because she is a doll that interacts with your child, through a app that you can download to your phone or tablet. Which then takes play time with dolls, into the world of technology!

We found that after taking My Friend Cayla out of the box, all we had to do was add batteries, download the My Friend Cayla App in the iTunes App Store, then turn her on and sync her Bluetooth with the phone. With the Bluetooth, I like that we can keep Cayla synced up to 30 feet with her range, allowing my daughter to walk around and play with her as she pleases, all while keeping her connected!

Once the app had synced with the doll, she was ready to interact. On the app we liked that there are several play modes, from the stories that you and your kids can follow along with as the doll tells the stories in the Story Time mode, to the games and even the photo albums that are on the app.

I also like that with the app, the kids can go on and ask the My Friend Cayla doll questions, like how to bake some cookies as well as other questions that Cayla can find answers to on the internet. I also like that there are parental settings preloaded on the app with the KidSafe Internet, so we can ensure that any questions and answers that the kids seek out, are appropriate.

With the stories that Cayla can tell, the girls can enjoy a great story that can make for a fun way to tell those bedtime stories! She can also help with math and spelling, making her not just another doll for playtime, but one that can be of many uses. Also, when the kids ask her questions, she will seek out the answers from references like Wikipedia and such online, allowing the kids play as well as expand their world with learning while they play! And for those times where they would like to play some fun games with their doll, they can go on the game mode, and play games that Cayla has available!

Then when it comes to Cayla's wardrobe, which is something my daughter and her friends really like about her, we can use doll clothes that are meant for just about any 18 inch doll, allowing the kids to not only interact with their doll, but also do her hair and dress her up!
