It is hard to believe it, but as we head out to the stores, it is clear, Valentines Day will be here soon! I get excited for all of the holidays, and Valentines Day is one that I adore! True, the chocolate and flowers do help make the holiday more enticing, but I think one thing that I look forward to is the jewelry. I mean, aside from my birthday, Mothers Day and our anniversary, it is one day that my husband finds a gift to give me that is usually in the form of jewelry! One thing that I have always found to make for a great Valentines gift, regardless of who it is for, is a locket. A locket to hold memories, whether it be for a wife, daughter, best friend, mother or sister, it seems like a locket can mean a lot more than just being another piece of jewelry. Recently I was given the chance to design and review a custom locket of my own from Pictures On Gold.

I found this to be a great and very fitting gift to give this Valentines Day to my younger sister. This year, a few days after Christmas, my sister's boyfriend of 9 years, finally popped the question and asked her to be his wife. This is something that we have been waiting on for a very long time, and even though they are newly engaged, we have considered her now fiance to be a part of our family for many years. So, when I was asked to create and review a locket from Pictures On Gold, I was very excited! I knew that this locket would make for a great Valentines/Engagement gift for my little sister. The design process was very easy, and I liked that through out the process, I was able to preview what I was creating. I chose to add a piece of clipart to use on the front of the locket from the Love/Hearts category, which was very suiting to the occasion. Then on the inside of the locket, I had 2 pictures of my sister and her fiance laser engraved. Uploading and placing the pictures was easy, and I was able to size them to fit the lockets as well! I had contemplated having custom text engraved on the back, but when I came across the quote, "Once in a while, Right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale." I knew I had to have it put on the back. I am glad I went with this quote because once my sister saw it, she said that this would be their quote for the wedding! Once I had completed the design of the locket, I was able to pick out a chain for the locket, then once again preview the entire locket before ordering. I liked being able to see the completed product before ordering, that way, if there was anything I wanted to change, I could do so. When it arrived, both my sister and I were pleased with the finished product.
