Aurora #Giveaway US & #Canada Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy Dolls

I think that most of us can remember Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy growing up. In fact these beloved characters are ones that not only I can remember growing up with, but characters that my mom shared with me, ones that she also loved as a young girl. I had my own set of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls that my mom and grandma had given to me, then when I had my daughter, my mom got a large Raggedy Ann doll for my daughter. So I guess you can say that we have kept the tradition of having these lovable characters in our family and sharing the love and the story books about these adorable dolls with our children. Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy were originally created in 1918 by a man named Johnny Gruelle who had made these memorable dolls for his daughter. I think what I loved most about the story behind the characters growing up is that Raggedy Ann came to when Gruelle pulled the poems, "The Raggedy Man" and "Little Orphan Annie" together to come up with the characters. Personally, I grew up loving the story of Annie so I adored and appreciated the characters. Little did I truly know the complete story behind the line of lovable dolls until I had kids of my own. Gruelle had made the dolls for his daughter, who, at the age of 13, passed away after being vaccinated with the smallpox vaccine at school with out her parents consent. Gruelle blamed the vaccine for his daughters death and used the Raggedy Ann doll as a symbol for the anti-vaccination movement. After learning the whole story behind these memorable and collectible dolls, I became more appreciative of the story behind these dolls. Well, recently the wonderful people from Aurora decided to bring the dolls back to life, so that parents can once again share the passion and love for these dolls with their own children. I was sent a Raggedy Ann Fancy Pal for review. I love that with all of the dolls from the new line, they keep that classic look that we all remember, but offer different products so that you can share the love for these dolls in a few different ways. Since we already have the full size dolls, I chose the Fancy Pals, so that not only will my daughter have a smaller version of Raggedy Ann, but she can also take her smaller Raggedy Ann doll along with her. Well to celebrate the new line of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls that have recently been released, the wonderful people from Aurora World would like to give one of my amazing readers their choice of doll from the Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy line of dolls!!!
