Home For The Holidays: Aurora YooHoo and Friends Giveaway CLOSED!

I love the holidays, and I love finding great presents to give my kids over the holidays!! With having a boy and a girl, we still get those times when they both want the same presents. They will fight over a toy, which I may have just gotten one because I thought it was better sooted for one than the other. So I do try to get toys that they can each have that are similar in character but are still individualized. That is what I love about the YooHoo and Friends Dolls from Aurora Toys. These adorable stuffed animals come in a variety of characters that can either be for just boys or girls or for both!! These little guys are just way too cute. You can choose from a variety of dolls, a sugar glider or a squirrel, or a panda or a tiger and many more varieties of YooHoos!! These adorable little dolls also make noise, so your kiddos can have even more fun with them by getting them to make cute sounds for so much fun!!!

Also from Aurora they carry a number of other incredibly adorable dolls!! I received several dolls from Aurora that are all just way too cute. I received 2 of the YooHoos. The first was the Lemme Punk Rocker. He is just way too cute with his little guitar and he also blows kisses to you!!

The other cute little YooHoo I received was the YooHoo Love! Like I had said they have little YooHoos that can be either for a boy or a girl!
I also received the cute little kitty Milly! Milly is just so adorable, and is the perfect present for any little girl!! Milly comes in a variety of attire so you can get the perfect Milly for your little girl, whether its a Birthday present or a present for any occasion!!

The last adorable stuffed animal is the Lea Lamb from the Dreamy Eyes Collection. This little lamb is so soft and adorable with its big dreamy eyes looking up at you! Great present for a new baby or for any kid!!

Since we are celebrating the holidays over here at Mommy Katie, the people from Aurora Toys would like to give one of my awesome readers a YooHoo and Friends doll!

Home For The Holidays: Energizer and First Alert Giveaway CLOSED!

With the holidays here and Christmas Trees up, one thing that everyone has to keep in mind is fire safety. Every year there is an estimated 250 house fires involving Christmas Trees and 170 involving holiday lighting nation wide. Do you have a plan set in place if a tragedy were to strike your home this holiday season? Do you have all of the equipment in place that you need if something were to happen? When was the last time you changed the batteries on your fire alarms?

Forty percent of fatal fire injuries occur in homes without working smoke alarms, while 23 percent occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate.
Firefighters work tirelessly to help reduce the risk factors by educating their residents on the importance of having a working smoke alarm. In many communities, fire departments are able to distribute free batteries to citizens in need as a result of the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery program. Over the past 22 years, Energizer has donated more than four million batteries to local fire departments. This year, people have an opportunity to get involved in a very simple way to help increase the donation.
In an effort to reach more community members nationwide, Energizer, as part of its new Now That’s Positivenergy™ program, is enlisting people across the country to help double the donation of batteries to local fire departments. When people visit the CYCCYB tab on the Energizer Bunny®Facebook page, (www.facebook.com/energizerbunny), they can send aChange Your Clock Change Your Battery reminder to their friends to trigger a battery donation. In addition, people can make an online pledge to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors or develop a home escape plan online to help increase the number of batteries the company donates this year, up to 400,000 batteries.
“Each year, thousands of lives are forever changed due to the devastating effects of a home fire, especially when home fire fatalities are a factor,” said Chief Jack E. Parow, EFO, president and chairman of the board of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. “For that reason alone, Energizer’sdonation of batteries has become a vital and necessary component to keeping communities across the nation safe and sound. A working smoke alarm is a family’s best defense for surviving a home fire.”

Extra Good in Your Neighborhood
One positive change residents are encouraged to make is to use the extra hour “gained” to remind their friends, family and neighbors of the life-saving habit of changing and testing smoke alarm batteries. The simple reminder is one of the easiest, most-effective ways to reduce tragic home fire deaths and injuries.
Secondly, you can spend your extra hour spreading good in your neighborhood. More than 80 percent of local fire departments are staffed by volunteers. Energizer and the IAFC are encouraging people to use their extra hour volunteering to make a change in their community.
“It’s about taking small steps together to make a big difference, from reminding each other to get in the habit of the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program to using our extra hours to make a difference in the community– Now That’s Positivenergy™,” Olsen said.

This holiday season, Energizer and First Alert would like to give one of my readers a First Alert Smoke Alarm  along with a 2-pack of 9volt Energizer® Max® batteries.

Designer Blogs Review

As I am sure you have noticed, I changed my blog design. I was able to have this done courtesy of Designer Blogs! When I was asked to choose what I would like in a custom blog design, it seemed like it was going to be just over whelming. There are just so many options and designs you can go with. But Lauren from Designer Blogs was very helpful. I gave her an idea of colors and kinda how I wanted it to turn out, and in less than 24 hours she had a selection of blog designs that she had created for me to choose from! I was thinking to myself that I was kinda vague on what I wanted, but even with just the little bit I gave her to work with, she was able to come up with the perfect design, that was exactly what I wanted! I did have the opportunity to choose from the templates that were already made that they have available, but personally, I am very simple and if you hadnt noticed pink is my thing. I love the blog design that she made for me, and I know that when I decide to change things up, I will be contacting Lauren again!! Another thing is that if there are any bloggers or even business owners who would like to get a customized design for their site, Designer Blogs is the way to go!! They can also make customized buttons for your blog, scrapbook designs and more!!
